Hair Tips
African American Hair comes in many textures.
African American hair is very delicate.
Black hair drys out easy and the scalp has to be
greased 2-3 times a week, due to this African American
children's hair can not be washed daily like Caucasians.
The grease on the scalp is also the reason that African
American Children are less likely to get HEAD LICE.
Lice are unable to form nits on greasy hair. The better
care your child's hair the longer and fuller it will become.
Unlike Caucasians, when black hair is permed it
straightens out the hair to make it manageable.
Some African American parents do not put perms on
their children's hair until they are 8 years old and when
they do, it is a kiddie perm.
Whether, you began the perm younger or later in the
child's life it should, more than often be under the
direction of a licensed beautician. A kiddie perm is less
harsh than and adult African American Perm. There are
also other options to perming.
